Is Wal-Mart becoming the leader in green initiatives?

That may be a bit much, but maybe in the mainstream, gas is too much/I won’t lose my SUV world, Wal-Mart is at least becoming an example of how a global retailer can be more environmentally responsible.

Wal-Mart Pledges to Sell Sustainable Fish Products

I just read this is in the WWF May/June 2006 issue of “Focus”.
It looks like the WWF, Marine Stewardship Council, and Conservation International are working with Wal-Mart to sell sustainable fish. This applies to ALL fresh and frozen fish.

Wal-Mart plans to double its organic grocery offerings in the next month

Wal-Mart is opening its doors to organic food.
