Green Surf Magazine
Check this out?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ As far as I know this is the only green surf magazine around?¢‚Ǩ¬¶
A few snippets from their site, www.surferspath.com?¢‚Ǩ¬¶
With issue number 42, THE SURFER’S PATH becomes the first “green” surf magazine. It’s printed on 100-percent post-consumer recycled paper (processed without chlorine bleach) with non-GMO soy inks…
It’s simple common sense: the survival of our surf spots is directly linked to the health of our rivers and streams, and the wholesale clear-cutting of forest ecosystems, along with the treatment of wood pulp with toxic chemicals like chlorine bleach in the manufacturing of paper, link directly to many of the water-quality problems being addressed by numerous global environmental organizations, like Surfrider and Save Our Surf.
This is huge! We whoop and holler about cutting down the trees and while that is an issue the bigger issue is the process of preparing the paper itself. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s extremely dirty. And where do you think that runoff goes? The ocean, the lakes, and your shower. Trees grow back, albeit very slowly, but toxins linger.
THE SURFER’S PATH are making an enormous statement while synonymously defining a sustainable business plan. After all, who is going to by a surf magazine if there is no clean ocean to surf in?
